Daredevil: Born Again Producer Teases the Most Brutal Action Ever in the MCU

Brad Winderbaum reassures fans that Daredevil: Born Again will match (and even surpass) the dark tone of the original.

Daredevil: Born Again will take the Marvel Cinematic Universe to a darker, more violent place as the upcoming series looks to make the most of its R-rating. According to Marvel Studios Head of TV and Streaming, Brad Winderbaum, Born Again is far more violent than the original Daredevil series. Starring Charlie Cox as the titular hero, Daredevil featured some of the most brutal scenes shown in a comic book series, including waves of bloody fight scenes and even some scenes depicting torture. Fans were worried when Disney and Marvel Studios announced they were continuing the character's story in a new Disney+ show, as fans expected the House of Mouse to tone down the level of barbarity, but it appears that Born Again is going above and beyond. Producer Brad Winderbaum sat down with Entertainment Weekly to discuss the upcoming slate of Marvel's Disney+ projects, which also includes Agatha All Along, and Marvel Zombies. Showcasing R-rated violence in Daredevil: Born Again has been a long-running topic of discussion among the fan base, and a featured talking point among the show's stars. Winderbaum weighed in on the matter, promising that Daredevil: Born Again will live up to fans' hopes, and then some. He explained: "I'll tell you, some of the most brutal action we've ever brought to the screen is coming in Daredevil: Born Again, which isn't a horror show, but it really packs a lot of power and there's a lot of visceral action."

Deadpool & Wolverine Cameo Star Is '100%' Ready to Return to the MCU

The crowd-pleasing Deadpool & Wolverine cameos have Marvel fans calling for the return of several original characters.

After her crowd-pleasing cameo in Deadpool & Wolverine, Logan star Dafne Keen hopes Laura/X-23 has a long future in the MCU. Marvel Studios' latest smash-hit, directed by Shawn Levy, brings its eponymous heroes (played by Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, respectively) into the confines of the MCU as fans say goodbye to Fox's X-Men cinematic universe. Along the way, the pair are joined by some long-time fan favorites and exciting new additions, including Blade (Wesley Snipes), Elektra (Jennifer Garner), and Gambit (Channing Tatum). All four of the supporting heroes are confirmed to have survived the events of Deadpool & Wolverine, meaning there's a chance we could see them again in the future. While Wesley Snipes and Jennifer Garner may very well be done with their respective characters, Dafne Keen isn't ready to give up the mantel of X-23. Speaking to Empire Magazine, the actress was asked about her potential MCU future. The actress didn't reveal too much (likely under threat from Marvel Studios' secretive spoiler squad) about any potential projects she may already be signed up for, but Keen is, well, keen to play the character again in another MCU movie. Dafne Keen first played Laura/X-23 in James Mangold's Logan, which was initially intended to be Hugh Jackman's farewell to the character. Keen was only 11 years old when she first played the character, and delivered a scene-stealing performance — which is a tough ask against the acting heavyweight that is Hugh Jackman. After Disney bought back the rights to the X-Men characters, many fans assumed that X-23 had been forgotten by the studio. But, her appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine means the character could still have a long and prosperous future in the MCU.
